Wilkins
and Olander opened their doors in May of 1990 in Sturgeon Bay,
WI (Door County). "W&O" was the brain child of Jennie
and Carol, two former buyers from Marshall Field's. The name "Wilkins
and Olander" was derived from each of their maternal grandmother's
maiden names -- Wilkins was Carol's grandmother and Olander was
Jennie's grandmother.
Their business grew as there were few better quality clothing stores
in Sturgeon Bay. In the spring of 1992, Wilkins and Olander expanded,
opening a store in Founder's Square in downtown Fish Creek. In
1999, the website was launched in an effort to keep in touch with
their seasonal customer base, little did they know how the Internet
would bring a whole other dimension to Wilkins and Olander.
Wilkins and Olander has been awarded Vera Bradley’s Gold Delaer Award for excellence in product selection and service. We have also achieved Pandora Gold Dealer status, stocking the entire Pandora Jewelry line..
Since Wilkins and Olander’s inception, Jennie and her husband
have had two beautiful children, Claire and Jack, and have opened
their own Great Harvest Bread store in the Pittsburgh area. Carol
is still with Wilkins and Olander as they celebrate their 17th
anniversary in May.
